Introduction:

The book entitled “The
Best of Youngblood” by Jorge Aruta, Ceres Doyo and Letty Jimenez-Magsanoc is a
compilation of essays from the Philippine Daily Inquirer that composed of 77
essays. But we only need to choose 2 of its essay it is “The Myth of Generation
X and “Anak ng Katulong”. Anak ng katulong is basically a story of a boy hose
mother is a maid and lives on his mother’s master’s house. He was born on a
peasant family. He was supported by his mothers master for the financial and
beneficial needs for school. He was free to choose any course he want and study
at UP Diliman. He was called anak-pawis and graduate Cumlaude. After graduation, he considered teaching is a
noble profession, so after stint with some NGOs in 1992, he applied at two
public schools. Even he has a work, they are still poor and without ay property
they are still living in a house subsidize by his mothers master.

“The Myth of Generation X” by Frank Cimatu is
an essay that tells about the new generation of living that has no religion and
lives without God. Even the authors of this article don’t want to be called
Generation X-ers, because it sounds bad to him. Generation X is a young people
all over the world who wanted to live without God.

Body:

The book “The Best of Young Blood”
is a compilation of 77 different essays. The essay entitled “Anak ng Katulong”
is what I liked most. It is a true story of the writer Joven de la Tierra. I
like it because it tells us about the life of a child whose mother is home
helper. They live on his mother’s master’s house. I can relate to this story
because of my Aunt in the province that became a maid in manila. It tells us what
is the true status of the person such as the difference of rich and poor that
was always seen where ever we are. It also tells even we work, and salary the not
enough for the daily needs of the family.

The Myth of Generation X is an essay
written by Frank Cimatu that tells us on how to live without religion and without
God. I don’t think it is not funny, but I choose it because nowadays some
people don’t believe in God and sometimes they don’t respect it. According to
the essay The Myth of Generation X “Judging from the number of my age mates
joining Christian groups (in 1980, there were 288 Christian fundamentalist
sects in the

Philippines

and Fil-Am community, but by 1987, there were more than 1,137), it is still
safe to say Christ died for us.” I think this part of the article shows that
they don’t believe that god save us from our sins and Christ died for us.

Conclusion and Recommendations:

I notice that the life of human
being is different from each other. We have different stories and different
life. We can share it to every body but we may not, many of those shows reality
but some they only show fantasy. I concluded that we must live in life with
faith in god and faith in our family.

This book shows many essay or
stories that based in reality. This is good to read by the corrupt politicians
even not politician so they can think what was the life of many people who
suffer in poverty,

 Introduksyon:

The Great Wall Of China.

Konklusiyon at rekomendasiyon:
